The beer that’s actually served at Oktoberfest in Munich, this pale, light, slightly toasty lager was aged in oak wine puncheons for a rounder and fuller flavor. Fill up those liter steins and Prost!

draft pour into a dimpled mug. slight chill hazed straw gold with a minimal white foam head. there beers almost never have enough foam for my liking, however, nice lacing on this one as the beer is consumed. bready malts as well a slight oak presence. as it warms the wine aroma takes more front and center and kind of covers up any hoppiness or lager yeast smells. taste offers much more of a wine barrel presence - both in white wine and oak - as well as bready malts and earthy hops. thick, full mouthfeel with a lower level of carbonation. this is quite good. the puncheon aging adds a lovely, almost tart, and dry component. really enjoyed this one.
