A Trappist Monk's lawnmower beer. Translated to "father's beer" in Dutch, this Belgian single was brewed light so that the monks could enjoy it all day long and still get their work done. Brewed with low amounts of mace and cinnamon.

look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75
draft pour into a dimpled mug. foggy, burnt orange with a finger of firm white foam. light floral hops with slightly spicy Belgian esters on the nose. taste follows with an almost caramel flavored note to it before finishing heavily with the Belgian esters. it’s almost a little too much Belgian yeast / influence for me. makes a somewhat lighter beer not very drinkable but i’ve always been that way about Belgian and Belgian-influenced beers. it has a medium mouthfeel with a little bit lower level of carbonation, again taking away from some of its drinkability. not bad, but my least favorite pour of the day from my session there.
