Pint can purchased at QiknEzy (for whom Anvil & Forge brews a house-labeled Mex-style lager) fuel and convenience in Jacksonville, Illinois. No date printed on can but presented plenty fresh.
Poured crystal clear into Weizen glass with giant (⅛ inch diameter) thin, light bubbles in a two-finger head; a quick twist of the half-emptied can dislodged lees in clumps the size, shape, and quantity of about five pencil-end erasers. Much prettier now.
Noses biscuits, lemon zest, honeydew, clove.
Palate adds ripe banana, toasted clove, cantaloupe, cream, subtle zest. Plenty sweet, especially for the style.
Creamy rich smooth mouth feel despite light carbonation.
A modern American take on a classic old-world style. I'll be buying more of this and other products from this brewery on my next trip through central Illinois.

I tried a pint of this beer off the tapper at the brewery whilst on a beer trip to Springfield, Illinois with my old Oswego Posse. It poured a slightly hazy golden with thin off white ring head that is leaving some lace. The scent had subtle banana and clove notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with subtle banana and clove presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

First beer pre-wedding. Served in a hefe glass which is visually appealing, terrific flavor, lots of banana.
