Picked up a 500 ML bottle directly from the Zillicoah taproom location 1-6-23 for $13. Presumably from 2022, reviewed 1-14-24.
Beer poured a clear reddish-brown with a soap bubble head that dissipated quickly.
Nose is citrus forward along with horseblanket and barnyard.
Taste is interesting as i am getting a light but substantial malt base that gives me a spiciness from the rye and is inoculated with a Brett forward yeast that gives me horseblanket, barnyard, and lemon. Finishes with a surprising resinous hop bite that balances this really well.
Mouthfeel is extremely light bodied and very refreshing.
Overall this is a tasty unique style of beer, and to me drinks like a Saison, glad i gave it a shot!
