Made exclusively with Hallertau Blanc hops, Zillicoah's German styled pilsner gets a slightly winey upgrade.
Simply named Blanc, the blond lager pours with teeming bubbles, bright clarity and topped with a cottony white foam stance. As the spicy, lemony and vinous hops build upon the nose, so does the sweet and slightly doughy scent of fresh and gently kilned grain. Mild mannered in its early taste, its the sweetness of honeysuckle, white bread and fresh dough that gives an early malt impression.
Then as the lager splashes the middle palate, the tastebuds become awash with those German inspired yet Americanized hops. Lemony with a hint of white wine, the lager also shares mild apple nuances. Trending from fruit to herb, the late palate shows a quick transition toward a spicy, grassy and botanical bite of green tea, verbena and peppery herbs and grape skins.
Light in body, the Hallertau Blanc hops are a seamless taste for pilsner as they add brightness and a more herbal character to balance the beer for an effortless, drinkable and refreshing session.
