Picked up a 11.5 oz bottle at the Blue Door Bottleshop in Hendersonville 5-16-24 for $4.50. Recent bottling sampled 6-7-24.
Beer poured golden with a nice white head with the original pour.
Nose is nice, smoked meat forward but is subtle and not overpowering like the Schlenkerla beers.
Taste follows the nose as the base beer malt base is very light with a nice blending of the Bamberg smoked malts as i can still get a taste of the lager yeast which gives a touch of white crackers. Finishes with a deft touch of hops, nicely balanced.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and comes across heavier with the smoked malts but i know that is my imagination. Still refreshing surprisingly.
Overall another well executed brew by the Zillicoah team.
