One of our favorite variants from 2018 was Orange Sorbet Rings, so we wanted to super-size it with a 200 gallon batch based on Lord of Light! For this one Scott zested more than 100 Cara Cara oranges and heaped in 24 Vanilla Beans from Madagascar. The combination is rich and fruity, but without being sugary sweet.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Opaque deep lemon body, with a slight bit of hinting soda like carbonation to be seen. Fluffy topped creamy white bulging head at an easy three plus finger height. Pill and leggy surprising lacing with a soapy like top to the eyes.
Delicious sensing aroma. Creamy touches of vanilla, with liking tangerine notes and getting into lemon zest and even lemon sourness. Strong herbal notes flirting with pine, but comes out more garden dank herbs with a great sweetness of earth on the nose. Fantastic mix.
Palate is a born winner. Creamy touching with just a hint of dryness and chalky like residue on the tongue, but a flavor that is really unique. Creamed vanilla and orange citrus that comes out like a creamsicle ice treat. Bursting orange flavor, with touching sweetness that comes off more like tangerine Christmas like orange flavor. Spritzy but full. Rich but not overpowering. Bold but easy drinking.
Great crafted pale ale here, better than a lot of high ranking IPAs if you ask me even!

Pours a cloudy yellow-orange with a quickly fading off-white head. Smell and taste are orange juice, citrus, tropical fruit, slightly dank/piney hops, and a nicely restrained vanilla to round out the flavor profile. The mouthfeel is just a little bit too prickly and rough around the edges for the NEIPA style. No alcohol to be found, as expected for 5.6% abv. Overall, a great version of an OJ/vanilla IPA.
