A hoppy red ale. I'm glad to see a new and somewhat hypey brewer willing to take on an old-school style.
Pours, erm, red. Nice effervescence. Smells like an earthy, malty red. Older school, again, but lacking the sharpness or mild hop tang that makes for a really good red ale. The aroma is bread and peat. The flavor is aggressively ashen and malty with a hop finish that doesn't do a very good job of complimenting that malt. The finish is aggressively peaty.
It's not horrific, but not particularly good.
