DIPA with Vidal Blanc Grapes
For this 300 gallon batch of DIPA we combined barley and wheat with 700 lbs of fresh white wine grapes from Crow Vineyards (Kennedyville, MD). Their vintner suggested the Vidal Blanc variety for its fresh pineapple and lemon notes. We destemmed and crushed the grapes, giving the beer a week of skin-contact. After infusion, we dry hopped with a blend of hops that accentuates both the citrusy and winey characters!
