Imperial Stout with Coconut, Macadamia Nuts, and Coffee Added
When the weather gets cold in Maryland and New York, we want an all-inclusive tropical vacation (in a glass if we can't leave the brewery)! We infused this thick stout with 100 lbs of coconut (toasted and untoasted), 180 lbs of macadamia nuts, and a double-dose of Vigilante Coffee's Rafael Amaya from Columbia. The result is bright red fruit and mocha on the nose, with the toasty richness of the coconut and nuts on the palate.

500mL bottle from ChurchKey in DC. I suppose we could back out how much of heavily each additive was pushed onto the base beer, given the final bottle count of 1,232, but the practical upshot is that 9 months after bottling, the coconut and macadamia nuts are largely missing. I get a hint of the macadamia nuts on the nose which might just be confirmation bias, but that said, the remaining experience is still a pretty solid coffee dessert stout.

Bottle from Lunch. Thanks Paul.
A delightful beer to sip and savor over a long period. Sweet and dessert like, as one might expect from the description. Medium thick body with low carbonation. Nicely done.
