This DIPA was brewed in collaboration with John, one of our favorite longtime customers, for his 50th Birthday! He smelled and selected hops to make one of the Sapwood-iest DIPAs ever with expressive tropical aromatics from two newer varieties (HBC 586 and Zappa), rounded out by citrusy notes from one of our long-time favorites (Citra Cryo)! We stuck with our standard oat-wheat heavy base and house English strain for a creamy backdrop!

16 ounce can poured into a Tulip.
L: Opaque pale yellow, some suspended sediment, 3 finger off-white head, persistent medium density foam, small amounts of sticky lace.
S: Nice nose, pineapple, stone fruit, hints of pale malt.
T: Hop forward, moderate bitterness, sweetness low-medium, stone fruit and spicy hop flavor, some flour-like pale malt, peach and mango flavors come out later in the glass.
F: Medium-full body, high-ish carbonation, feel is crisp over soft, creaminess develops later in the glass, little bit of prickle, with the finish that builds some as I drink.
O: Really good, great flavor and very easy drinking.

Pours a hazy vibrant golden color with a nice head and lacing
Aroma has generous tropical and citrus hints
The taste follows the nose with a well balanced tropical and citrus flavor
A medium bodied well carbonated beer
A good IIPA
