Citra Amarillo Weizen IPA – There is a lot of recent excitement about creating new yeast strains that produce fruity compounds to complement and enhance hops. Why not go back to the original “fruit salad” strain, German Hefeweizen! We started with a stronger and hoppier version of a Hefeweizen, then dry hopped with two fruit-forward American varieties: Amarillo for stone fruit aromatics, and Cascade for grapefruit! It’s a little snappier, more carbonated, and more refreshing than our standard IPAs too!

Draught pour into a stemless wine glass at the brewery.

L: Hazy/opaque, pale straw color but with some vibrancy, 2 finger head, white foam leaves lots of lace and has good retention, lively pour.
S: Fruity hops, citrus and tropical mix, hints of flour malt, some alcohol late in the glass.
T: Hoppy but only mildly bitter, sweetness is a bit higher, stone fruit flavors close to peach, some flour malt, mild alcohol, hints of banana.
F: Soft medium-full body, very smooth and pillowy feel, moderate carbonation.
O: Very good, drinks like an IPA with a little banana yeast character, I was hesitant to try but it comes together nice.
