Pale Ale DDH with Talus and Michigan Chinook – Terroir (the taste of the growing region) is just as much a factor for hops as it is winegrapes. People associate dankness and citrus with the Chinook grown in the Pacific Northwest, but this lot of Chinook was grown in Michigan. The result is a Chinook with a juicier huge grapefruit and even pineapple. The Talus brings tropical notes and just a touch of creamy sweetness. Overall a deliciously juicy pale ale hopped like an IPA!

16 ounce draft pour into a stemless wine glass at the brewery.
L: Hazy orange-yellow with some light filtering through, 1” white head with medium retention, leaves slick bits of lace.
S: Hoppy citrus, light fruity/berry aroma, notes of mango as it warms.
T: Hoppy, mildly sweet, mix of citrus and stone fruit, citrus zest finish is moderately bitter, hints of vanilla in the aftertaste.
F: Soft medium body hiding under an overall crisp feel, a bit of tongue prickle but still pretty easy to drink.
O: Good juicy APA, the flavor is a bit muddy, but still tasty and easy drinking, overall great pool beer.
(Update 12/7/23) This one is better out of the can, notes still apply though it is more vibrant with a stronger nose and flavor profile.
