Peanut butter just isn’t peanut butter if it doesn’t stick to the roof of your mouth! So we focused on creating a sticky mouthfeel for this stout with rye and caramel malts. To enhance the aroma of the cacao nibs most of the color comes from chocolate rye. Then we added powdered peanut butter for that distinctly toasty-nutty flavor that goes so perfectly with chocolate!

Can from Perfect Pour. Delighted that this big Chocolate Imp stout brought the roasted peanut essence and did not seek to replicate a sugary sweet Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Nose and feel also chimed in to make this delicious sipper over the Holidays. Sapwood just keeps knocking it out of the park.

Poured from the can into a teku glass.
Creamy mocha brown colored top of three fingers, with a milkshake like body and fine bubbled cap. Body color is a deep dark walnut brown and nearly black body with even a touch of shine. Real impressive looking stout.
Aroma is a nice touch of peanut butter cup chocolate deliciousness. Creamed nut, more of a powdery sense than nougat, and a mild hinting sweetness of dark chocolate. This isn't overwhelming, and it's nicely controlled and balanced. Nicely done but not exceptional.
Palate is just very nice. Creamy feeling body that gives a sense of milky chocolate. The flavor is considerably darker, even with some hop bitterness which really makes the dark chocolate taste even better. Peanut angle is nicely melded together with still a bit of chalky dryness, but does manage to convey at least the right and fun flavor. The bitterness on this is the most surprising, which adds an entirely neat angle, cutting through some of the sweetness and sugars to make an excellent contrast. High abv is hardly even noticeable on the palate.
Real neat crafted flavored stout. Peanut butter cup indeed!
