We brewed this "Pre-Prohibition" take on an amber lager with American 6-row barley, corn, and a touch of chocolate wheat malt for color. Lightly bready with notes of honey, Corn Flakes, and a subtle balancing hop bitterness. It's named after the Nazi-fighting archeologist from an adjacent state, who in the initial draft was going to be named "Kentucky Jones." We assume he'd have worn a different hat...

16 ounce can poured into a Spiegelau wheat beer glass.
L: Clear coppery gold pour, 2 finger antique-white head, rocky foam has good retention.
S: Dried cracked corn to open, more bready and caramel malt aromas follow.
T: Much more dry and attenuated than the nose advertises, but still has some caramel sweetness, moderately bitter, woody hop flavor gives it a suggestion of booze.
L: Light crisp body, has a chewy mouthfeel that is a little frothy on the back.
O: Decent Lager, drinkable and fairly light.

Clear amber with a thin white head, not so great retention, spotty lace
Bready malt and toasted corn aroma
Light bread, toasted corn, slight astringency
Light bodied, could use some more carbonation
Meh
