Can from Sapwood. Slightly murky orange hold. Full plumy head with nice residual lacing( thin white film and halo. Very attractive. Nose is full with rye, hops and biscuit. Flavor pushes the Rye bready malt and marries well with the Nelson/Mosiac/Riwaka hop bill even more than scent. Melon Fruity but also some hard whole grain, rhubarb and citrus. Delicious and unique take on a RYE IPA.
Body is nicely velvety yet still has a complementary brisk bit of carb. Big body and abv but no burn.
Overall , a very nice DIPA and one of the best Rye forward brews I’ve had. Sapwood just keeps doing it.
