Red IPA with Simcoe® and Meridian
Back in our day you had to walk up the hill both ways in the snow to get a warm bottle of hoppy beer from the West Coast, and you were happy about it! Something called Caramel malt was all the rage back then, and they'd add it to IPAs to make them red and taste like toasted malt and toffee! Those were the days! Here's a beer that reminds us of those bygone days, loaded hops that make it taste like pine and citrus rather than a tropical fruit juice box!

Can from Perfect Pour. Overall a well made nice looking smooth Red IPA. The nose was a bit faint. I didn’t particularly like the hop bill. Wasn’t really a standout or even interesting for that matter. Malt bill didn’t stress the Rye. A bit boring.

16 ounce can poured into a Spiegelau wheat beer glass.
CANNED ON 7/23/24

L: Hazy amber-copper with caramel highlights, slightly beige off-white head, dense foam, moderate retention, a bit of lace.
S: Fruity ale yeast, hints of pine.
T: Well balanced, caramel malt sweetness fading into moderate piney bitterness, fruity undertones.
F: Medium body, high-ish carbonation, enough for some crisp bite, underlying fluffy feel.
O: A good hoppy red ale, clean and quaffable.
