Festbier Strong Lager
There are many opinions on what constitutes an Oktoberfest beer. It’s dark, it’s bright, it’s a Helles disguised as a Vienna lager. We think there’s one way to find out - go to Munich, brave the drunken hordes and general fleecing, and you will find out that what we put in this can is what Munich’s legendary breweries pour into your overpriced stein. A deep golden lager that proudly displays it’s hefty grain bill with a robust body and a fine balance of spice, hints of floral notes and a gentle bitter. A Festbier is a fine, strong lager that does not deserve the brouhaha people make around its target destination, the Oktoberfest. Especially when we can save you a trip to Germany with this truly authentic version in stock at your craft shop.

Sampling a 16 oz can at just below cellar temp. No date stamp to be found on can or label. Pouring into my .5L dimple mug.
The beer pours a clear copper color with khaki to light white colored dense head of about 1cm. this foam fades quickly to a thin edge layer and some wispy islands on the center of the beer.
Aroma is malt driven with some caramel and hints of dark bread mixing with some black and herbal tea notes. Not boozy on the nose at all. Aroma is pretty appealing, even though a little mild, which is probably fine for the style.
First sip reveals a lighter body with fine and sort of spacious carbonation that gently rolls across my palate.
Flavor is similar to the nose with some dark bread and caramel mixing with black tea bitterness and very dry finish. Never any hint of the ABV. This is a solid beer that I could see my self drinking several of due to tasty profile and drying finish.
nice beer that I am glad to have tried. Id drink again.

No packaging date - poured from a pint can into my Moonlight willi-becher.
Clear orange peel liquid supports a finger of soft papaya-whip foam, receding rapidly to a low active raft. Vague lacing; mediocre retention.
Lovely malt aroma with hints of banana, clove, and peppercorn with low floral notes and a hint of caramel and bubblegum.
Rich linear malt flavor married to a low but lasting noble hop bitterness. Finishes medium-dry and earthy with some lingering spice. Quite bready with some light complexity following the nose - cleanly lagered with no off notes.
Medium-light bodied - adequate carbonation. Refreshing yet substantial.
Exceeded my expectations, this is a very good domestic take on the style that I would seek out on draught during the season.

Good! Well and good! Straight up home from school and your mom already has a quesadilla cooking on the stove (with jalapeños) for you good! And while at school, a good day of hacky sack at lunch, and then making out with a meathead’s girlfriend in the amphitheater (true story) was had.

It looks fantastic, 3 fingers of billowing foam that stays one finger for a good while. Slightly more golden than a pilsner. Not much on the nose, and the taste is mostly the malty grain, hops are subtle. Feel is just fine. Got a 4 pack of pint cans for $12.99 I think. I won't go chasing it but will buy again most likely. Quite pleasant actually.
