my fist from mirage, but it certainly will not be my last, this is really impressive, how have i not heard of them before, seems like my kind of operation, and this is a heck of a first impression for me. solera style petite saison, oak aged, bretty and nicely blended to be sure, surprisingly mature, complex, wild, and interesting. a little light orange color to it suggesting more than just super pale malts, but its dry as can be. its frothy headed from the tap too, but id love to try a bottle sometime, this is the kind of thing that begs for bottle conditioned texture. hints of lemon, oak tannins, and even aged hops in the nose, almost hinting lambic with the well developed brett side of this, rustic and timeless to me. the flavor has plenty of white wine character, quite a lot of oak, a simple but sturdy grain base that must include some wheat malt, and a horsey sort of animal brett, orange and lemon to finish, moderate acidity but enough funk to keep it super engaging, and the quality is just awesome overall. it sort of has an almost green glass skunk to it too, could this possibly have intentional oxidation? this is good enough to have come from the old world, and it has me really excited to find more of their stuff! sure to age well too, i have to find some bottles...
