Had at an Italian restaurant and pizzeria that probably choose it because the brewer also has a pizzeria.
RateBeer categorizes this as an English Pale. Fair enough, but also could be an EIPA, given all the NZ hops.
Regardless of category, there is lots of character in this bottle. The label proclaims "Brewed in NZ's Northland with a Big Scottish Heart." Then, consider this: "a fruit bowl in a bottle."
The beer is gently humorous also. The aromatics are full of life; mostly tropical, but some pine. Taste is largely the same, but gentler than expected given the strong nose. A nice linger as a session... but less for the food with me. Food came and I stopped drinking it. Still a good experience.
Would like to try their Scottish ale. Probably a fun package and interesting take, too.
