Delicious Pale Ale

The hyperbole in this ale's name is initially deserved. Brewed by the restaurant (a previous culinary permutation was as a brewpub called Dux de Lux), this recipe focussed on bringing out a huge floral aroma that was very refreshing in the attack. However several sips later, the thrill was gone and I left about a quarter of it in the glass... particularly since I had to clear my palate for the food.

I need to figure out how to eat a good meal in NZ without having to lower my standards to wine.
