Monzón Brewing Co.

Monzon's Vibe is exceptional. For starter's, you are in a real brewery and a real gastropub... and not a tourist trap serving average mass produced beers and affected atmosphere. Rather, Monzon's first floor looks the part of a common dive bar. But it was packed at 3PM. There also is an upstairs for overflow. This Puerto Vallarta neighbourhood (called Zona Romantico) is largely gay and welcoming and cool... although the staff and couple that started Monzon appear to be only the last two of those adjectives.

I had a flight of four 3 ounce tasters, all Monzon brews. I was struck by how each was good... and a relief from the Mexican mass market macros. Service also was excellent; glad to answer my numerous questions. Also, Monzon's website is informative about why they exist and what motivates the owners.

Monzon also offers wine and cocktails. They did not offer competitive brews, but maybe because there aren't many in Mexico.

At 3PM, I did not have any food; but I will next time as the menu read interesting and I could imagine how it was developed for the brews I drank. Salud !

Probably the best brewery/pub to be found in the Old Town area of Puerto Vallarta.
They had a dozen beers on tap when we visited, in the usual array of styles. The IPAs in particular had good flavor. All of their beers were marred by the fact that they were served a bit too warm, otherwise the quality was there.

You must walk the extra few blocks to Monzón Brewing. The beers are delicious but he staff is even better.

Great place for a true craft beer and food on the Mexican local side. Reid has created a nice location with good beers and service.

Great brewery in PV. Don’t be afraid that brewery is on a side street, it is in a safe and welcoming neighborhood. Come in and have a pint with this lovely Seattle based couple.
