The malt character of this ESB brings out notes of toasted bread and brown sugar. A firm Grungeist dry hop adds a lemony bitterness to round out Thornhill. This beer fits in perfectly to a winter lineup with the malt backbone fitting for the cool weather but an ABV that really embraces its drinkability.

pint can, dated on bottom jan 22, pours a murky dark amber, decent head, wonderful aromas f toasted malt, toasted caramel, toffee, earthy, leathery undertones, really nice. Taste follows nicely, with a good amount of malt complexity and wonderful hop balance, never getting too sweet, good and dry, and a velvety feel with a substantial body. Might be the best US ESB that I've had thus far, and I look for them all the time. I love the style, and FMBC does it right.
