Pours a clear, brilliant gold color. Frothy white head with moderate retention. Low aroma - spicy/herbal. Medium bodied and surprisingly dry. Restrained bitterness Crisp, clean finish. A refreshing, easy drinking beer. Not outstanding but good.

Again, I find myself in the Brau Union orbit... maybe even their grasp.
And again, I find a brew better than its average ratings.
I drank this copy at room temperature and actually found it tastier, albeit less refreshing.
I like Vienna and it would take more than a few weeks for me to tire of this fine city.
But it has only taken me a few days to tire of just their beer. I need variety.
But Schwechater's Bier is balanced and its hops linger just long enough.

Pours a pale gold with a finger of head that slowly settles, minimal visible carbonation
Smells pretty one dimensional....malt. Very little hop presence.
Fairly neutral taste. Malt isn’t overpowering, just a hint of hops, mostly for the bittering aspect.
Below average level of carbonation. Fairly dry.
Middle of the road euro lager.

Brau Union Österreich AG "Schwechater Bier"
,5l can for ,99€ at a Turmöl Tankstelle in Salzburg, AT
"Mindestens Haltbar Bis Ende: 05.2018..." and sampled in 09.2017
Look: Clear golden body beneath a short head of bright white that drops shortly and leaves only minor lacing behind.
Smell: Limited aroma of golden malt with only the suggestion of some 'generic' hops.
Taste: The golden malt isn't distinctly grainy, nor do any hop flavors really show up. It's light in flavor but balanced, with a moderate bitterness that's enough to dry it in the finish.
Feel: Light-medium in body and lightly crisp and then smooth.
Overall: A basic Euro lager that falls on the less bitter and hoppy side without becoming sweet, or even sweetish, and maintaining a nice balance. In the end, however, it lacks the character needed for it to become a "more than one" beer.

Though it is an Euro Pale Lager, the positive thing about it is that it feels a bit cleaner, you don't really feel any corn, the sick yeast or the skunk hops in it. It is not overcarbonated either. Better than the average sh*t lagers that you can buy, still you wouldn't want to go looking for one either...
