Poured from fresh growler into Fort Nonsense pint glass. It pours a hazy amber with a large, foamy, milk-white head and lots of lacing that persisted through the pour. The nose features everything I would expect in a Saison: banana, clove, coriander, light citrus, and spice, although the smell isn't as bold as I'd like. When sipped cold it has the typical tastes of lemon peel, banana, clove, coriander, tobacco, and pepper. But as the glass warmed it seemed to be more hoppy and bitter. The taste is also a bit hollow. The feel is very light and crisp with pleasant carbonation, and an easy drinking 6.4% ABV. Overall, Saison Absurdité is the best of the first group of beers brewed by Fort Nonsense. I'd like to see a little more banana and bolder spicing but with a little work and attention to detail, this will be a solid Saison.
