Muddled reddish-brown with a thin creamy tan blanket.
A strong coffee roast hits up front, then some pumpernickel toast comes thereafter. On second visit, a hint of cacao then transitions into dark chocolate chip cookie in its own mature, bitter way, with a hint of vanilla. While it has some of these sweet sounding flavors, it's not in any way.
A soft then crisp froth runs quickly to a powder dry finish.
---
Revisiting on draft a few years later yields similar tasty results of toasty, nutty, and leafy, but yes, even marshmallow notes, all while quaffably balanced, semi-bitter and dry. A hint of maple sneaks in to the exhale, while still overall remaining semi-bitter. It's a little clearer and browner now too.
