Chill hazed at first, but otherwise clear and glowing golden with a tall khaki foam head.
Foamy up front but crisp and hoppy shortly thereafter, it comes very close to IPL with its moderate evergreen and citrus rind characteristics, but then also a lightly bready malt crops up, particularly in the exhale.
"Italian" pilsners continue to confound, this one being slightly different from those most successful takes I've found, to my palate.
---
As Ira promised, the 2025 batch is a little maltier, nuttier, cornier, and as such, more crushable, closer to Scrag Mtn than anything I've had recently. It has a solidly grassy, herbal balance without being biting. It also has a really refreshing, nondescript twang to it that brightens the middle and makes it crazy drinkable, in addition to its fine but persistently soft foam, made more apparent by its well retaining comforter of a head.
A well earned increase from my original 4.06 score, here now on 4/20/2025.
