easily my favorite of the four beers we had in here, and i think the most inspired or interesting offering i saw on their menu. it sort of pours like a brown ale, a little hazy and quite thick, but not black like i am used to in the style, a couple shades lighter in color, and holding a nice off white head on top. it smells really good, with a darker roast complexion than it looks like it should have, charry and earthy, with a chocolate layer too. i dont so much smell the honey, it has some sweetness, but i dont place honey, only because i know its there. the honey is a little more prominent in the flavor, sweet and refined, nice with the chocolate flavor in the malt and balancing the bitter element. smooth feel, a little starchy even chalky for a second, but i think the texture works nicely with the flavor in here. this still overall seems a little amature to me, like its a work in progress, but i think this is one of the better and more exciting beers on their menu right now. if you find yourself in laurel, dont miss this place!
