a really sort of pedestrian brew, not bad, but not great either, and lacking any real inspiration or exciting element, which was sort of true across most of their beers in here, although i can see this being a good seller in here, its probably most similar to the macro lagers folks in these parts appear to be used to drinking. this does have some corny sweetness to it, yellow beer character if you will, with a light crackery malt profile backing that up and just a bit more body than the macros might have. it smells and tastes like its been fermented a little too warm as well, slightly estery in an unflattering way, fully flavorful throughout, but its peaks and valleys of good and bad as it moves along. its light on the hops, medium on the body, and slightly floral. its drinkable and mellow and better than a can of bud or something, so it does have value, especially in this local context. my real gripe is in the carbonation, it just isnt there, and so it tastes grainy and sweet with nothing to stop it from lingering too long, it needs life, and its short there. i want a cream ale to be refreshing, and this one really isnt. more bubbles would improve this a lot, but for now let it stand as a decent intro to craft beer in a place where such gateways are not as common as in other parts of the country...
