this is perhaps the most generic american ipa i have had, in that ive had it a million times despite never being here before. its better carbonated than a lot of the beer in here, and its plenty hoppy, but thats where my compliments will stop. its like someone googled "ipa recipe" and made the first result. you know, pale two row, a pinch of a crystal malt, and long boiled C hop varietals, some last minute columbus or centennial or simcoe or something, its just a simple beer that countless others have done before, and this was a bit of a let down because its so samey. i keep going back and forth on whether an approachable and simple and familiar ipa is a good thing in this town, which appears to be newish to craft generally speaking, turn people on with a beer like this, give them something recognizable and all. on the other hand though is that this could be made by anyone, and doesnt inspire any wild adoration i wouldnt think, thus rendering it entirely irrelevant outside of the town of laurel. i could get through a pint of this, but any more to me would be sort of redundant. i enjoyed our time in here, great people and passable beer. its hard to be too tough on this one, but its just so middle of the road...

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
