Adding an extra toasted character to roasted peanut in an Imperial Milk Stout is such an ingenious move!
And so Ingenious Brewing's Imperial Peanut Butter Cup pours lusciously dark brown and with a tawny crimson glow about its margins. As the premiere toasted scent of roasted peanuts carry bold aromas of chocolate, coffee, cream and buttery brittle across its nose, the first sip reveals a heavy cola nut sweetness with caramel, chocolate, sorghum and toffee.
Getting beyond the intense peanut flavors, the undercurrent of stout creates a foundation of dark roast coffee, pleasantly burnt cream and light campfire and heavy toast. Relaxing as the taste moves toward the finish, the taste is spicy and woodsy from hops and the linger of peanut skins with remnants of cola remaining.
Full bodied, warm with walnut liquor and somewhat relaxed on the finish, the beer risks watery textures in a long and thin finish with an afterglow of those freshly roasted peanuts that are undeniable.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short beige colored head that quickly settled down, leaving a thin off white collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of peanut butter are present in the nose along with notes of chocolate.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has stronger flavors of peanut butter and chocolate.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and very smooth and slick on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer tastes like a liquid version of a peanut butter cup. It's also quite drinkable and does an exceptional job at masking any traces of alcohol from the taste.

12oz can from Tavour. Black pour, fizzy brown head disappears instantly. Aroma is mostly peanut butter, hint of sweet chocolate. A bit more chocolate presence in the taste, solid peanut butter, and a bit of alcohol warmth. Sweet.

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a deep brown, nearly black color with a one finger head of tan foam. The head fades rather fast leaving a little bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is big and rich. There is a huge roasted peanut butter smell mixed with a strong showing of dark malt and milk chocolate. Along with these aromas comes notes of brown sugar and confectioners’ sugar, as well as some hints of vanilla and a touch of char.
Taste – The taste begins with super sweet milk chocolate and toasty malt flavor that is mixed with a sweet creamy peanut butter flavor. Right from the start there is a rather strong brown sugar and vanilla sweetness as well as some flavors of raisin and molasses. The sweeter sugary flavors as well as the peanut butter intensify as the taste moves on, all while the roastiness gets slightly lower. A touch of a almost cocoa like liquor flavor and heat come more toward the end of the taste, and mixed with the peanut butter and the sweet, one is left with a peanut butter cup cocktail like taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is low. For the decadent peanut butter cup flavors and the rich milk chocolate and sweet, the feel is great and makes for a nice slow sipper.
Overall – A very sweet, but with a rather nice flavor. A good peanut butter cup dessert brew.
