Six kinds of grain bring out a complex character in this Scotch Ale. Chinook hops offset the sweetness while keeping the beer malty and smooth.

16 ounce can, no canning date I could find, label says 8% ABV. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a thistle glass, the beer pours a reddish/amber color with a huge tan head that took a while to settle. In hindsight I should have poured this one very slowly. Good amount of lacing. The brew smells like toasted malt, dark bread, peat, raisins and some herbalness. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some brown sugar and a slight tart berry flavor noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it's a bit coating but is way too carbonated. Lots of soft carbonation, pretty sure there's some kind of issue with this can. Not bad by any means, but hope to try the draft version of this sometime.

From the growler via Country Fresh market in Beechmont in a
snifter. This mighty fine brew pours a dark mahogany with a nice
head of off white foam that settles to a thick ring, thin light
layer, and displays some subtle lacing. Nose of dark brown sugars,
subtle herbal notes, and faint peat / and or rye. Flavors surpass
the nose with a mild peat malt with brown sugars and a nicely
balanced herbal hop note with faint orchard fruit notes of peaches.
Nice mouth feel; medium body, medium light carbonation, and
finishing moderately sweet and slightly dry.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a newer to the area brewery
that keeps impressing me.
Cheers
