This is our Hazy Double IPA that we hopped at 6.6 lbs per barrel of hand selected Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic. It's soft and juicy and one of our favorite beers from 2018 that we had to remake.

Glass: Pure Project 14-oz. snifter elemental (earth) glass
Price: $6.29 (10 pct. of. $6.99)
From: San Diego Wine & Beer Co.
Purchased: Feb. 15, 2022
Consumed: Feb. 23, 2022
Misc.: Canned on Jan. 15, 2022
Stopped at San Diego Wine & Beer Company on the way home from a work function. Intended to pick up six cans to get the 10 pct. off but almost $60 later I came away with eight cans. Untappd’s description read “This is our Hazy Double IPA that we hopped at 6.6 lbs per barrel of hand selected Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic. Poured a medium yellow-to-light golden clear color with three fingers of rocky-to-frothy white head. Could see lots of bubble streams coming up along the sides of the glass at slightly different speeds. Perfect layered foamy lacing. Almost perfect foamy retention. (Sight - 4.75)
Smelled Citra, lemon zest, grass, grapefruit, Simcoe, garlic, papaya, tangerine rind, melon, Juicy Fruit, Mosaic and floral. A little better out of the can with Citra really standing out. (Smell - 4.00)
Tasted a little better than the nose, getting better each sip. In order got Citra, grapefruit, Juicy Fruit, Mosaic, lemon zest, grass, papaya, spicy Simcoe, black pepper, garlic, mint, floral and hints of Circus Peanut candy. (Taste - 4.25)
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Long, dry finish, (Feel - 4.50)
This was really nice. Much better than I thought it would be, especially after the first few sniffs. (Overall - 4.25)

Had this at the source in November 2019.
Pours that hazy/cloudy sunrise color (all their beers on this date seem to reflect names based on the image) of orange and yellow. Sizeable 4/5" white head. Aroma pops for those proprietary hops, you know how Citra and Mosaic go, all that citrus, weed and tropical fruit fleshy hop notes. I mean dang, as that Eureka Heights brewery often says, this might have been a financially questionable amount of dry hopping, it is to the gills aromatic wise.
Taste is also quite the banger, I'm really on board with the direction of hazy ipas using Simcoe to firm up the bitterness, which this one does quite well. While it doesn't necessarily have a 'dry' finish like a west coast ipa, it does have a great interplay between the Simcoe bitterness and the other hops juiciness and dankness. Great tropical fruit aftertaste with a bitter juicy push of it all. This is just as good as about anything else they make, be it dank hops or pastry stouts.

Appearance - Pours hazy and yellow-orange in color with an off-white, finger width head. Decent retention before dying to a thin, consistent layer of suds covering the surface, building up slightly around the edge of the glass. Excellent laxing, covering most of the glass in broken sheeting and small patches.
Smell - Strong tropical aroma. Mango mostly, with lesser guava, papaya, pineapple, melon and hint of citrus.
Taste - Follows the nose. Total tropical juice bomb. Mango, papaya, guava and a bit of pineapple. A splash of melon in there too. Finish brings a hint of grapefruit pith. Aftertaste lingers strong and long with those tropical layers.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Soft, silky texture makes this an easy drinker before a mostly dry finish.
Overall - Good beer, but a bit too much tropical sweetness for me to love completely.

Only a faint nose on this one...had to search for it a bit. It is very smooth on the swallow, though! It has light notes of pineapple and dankness and grapefruit...very crushable!
