Served in a cervoise at the Palatine brewpub.
The final beer of my visit today shall be a nice d-bock. It pours a clear sunrise amber topped by a finger of cream foam. The nose comprises bready caramel, flowers, and perfume-y candied orange peel. The taste brings in more of the same, with a bready and fruity aftertaste that just doesn't endear this thing to me at all. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a pretty weak excuse for a d-bock, a particular disappointment considering the Emmett's crew's usual aptitude for German styles.

Appearance- Poured a one finger head with a nice consistant light coffee colored body.
Smell- Toffee, malt candiesand an evening hop balance.
Taste- Slightly roasted malts, with a watery mocha cappuchino thickness. Alcohol flavor is covered up nicely.
Mouthfeel- Roasty with a nice vanilla palate. Lovely sweetness.
Drinkability- ood for the alcohol content considering how much of this 64oz growler I drank on my own in one day.
