What nice-looking beers they have here! Bright orange, very hazy, with a bright white head and excellent lacing.
Smells a little weak. Not the kick-your-teeth-in kind of odor you usually find in Double IPAs. It's pretty good, though, big hops with just a hint o' yeast. Not very complex.
Tastes a notch above its odor, deceptively weak. There's a very heavy burst of hops and malt with none of the breaddough character I'm used to in the style. The malt is caramely with the slightest hint of sour yeast and the hops are citrus and this really just tastes like an APA with extra hops and a splash of alcohol more than a double IPA. There's no real stages, either: it's blankness-FLAVOR-blankness.
My hat goes off to any brewpub willing to try and make a Double IPA. This could have easily been an utter failure but it turns out to be nice beer that's highly drinkable despite its high alcohol content.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
