This is one of the mainstays of our four-tap home dispensing system. It's a classic American Amber, with a great hop and malt balance. It pours a pretty red color and is completely drinkable.
Between this and Victory Pale Ale, and living a mile from Emmett's Ale House, it's easy for us to keep solid craft beer pouring at home. And it's great to enjoy in the pub as well.

From a growler. This pours a nice reddish copper color. The head sticks nicely and clings to the sides of the glass. Smell is a nice balance of spicy herbal hops and bisquit malts. Taste is also very well balanced with just a touch of malt sweetness and then a hop spicynesss to finish it out, without much bitterness. The alcohol is non existent. This beer is very easy to drink. If I had another growler, I would be in for a bit of trouble tonight. This would go great with some BBQ chicken or Rib's. Pass me some napkins please.
Thanks to the always generous DavidEddie for the chance to try this one.

Pint at the new Oswego Venue.
A: Copper color with no visible carbonation. Thin manila colored lace even over the beer with a few bubbles in it. Lace has a slight cling to sides of glass as sampled.
S: Pleasant hops with slight grainy smell to it.
T: Hoppy snap with a slight carbonated bite. Sweet, but smooth. Hops well balanced to the up front malts. No alchoholic taste.
M: Medium body. Very well balanced, none of the flavors are to strong. The hops are great, but not powerful. Flavorful, but not overpowering.
D: Good session beer. Flavors are great and accessible, not over bearing. This beer has enough flavor to please the beer geek, but not scare off the locals who likely want a more generic beer. This one's a good compromise between those extremes. My buddy thinks the water in the Chicagoland area gives all the local breweries a 'funky' taste. He felt this beer worked with and complimented "Chicagoland water'. He may be over stateing the case, but it certainly works with the water better than The Roundhouse or Stockhoms does. Finally, the alcohol creeped up on me with this one. It really surprised me, one minute I was sampleing the beer with a meal, the next I had a slight buzz. Had to kill some time before I hit the road.
Need to get a growler of this and see if it holds up at home..

I had a couple of these while having dinner. The beer is a robust dark red with a decent tan head and good lacing.
The nose is of caramel, roasted malts and lots of citrus.
This is a hopped -up red! It has a nice caramel base with a bit of sweetness. The hops add a nice grapefruit taste. Im guessing this one has an IBU rating similar to a APA.
Crisp carbonation backs a smooth mouthfeel. Extremely easy to drink. The 5.2% make it a bit hard to session, but this tasty. Nicely done Emmets!!

Pours a medium dark amber with a 2 fingered head that persists and provides nice lace. Caramel malts dominate the aroma but this one has some nice american hops that balance the substantial malt base.
Hops finish with a nice bitterness. Although not one of my favorite styles this was very well brewed. Worth a try.
