Reviewed from notes. Nitro tap into imperial pint. Three finger creamy nitro head, hazy cascade, golden orange color once the beer settles, very good but typical retention of a nitro beer. Smells strongly of pineapple some spicy hops, lots sweet malts to balance. Taste is bitter and hoppy, tons of tropical fruits and pineapple flavors, malt is not as strong in the flavor as it was in the smell. Medium bodied with little to no carbonation, although this was expected. A very solid IPA that is very hop forward and not incredibly balanced. I was pleasantly surprised by this brewery.

On nitro-tap at Emmett's in Downers Grove Il. Served in a 20oz. nonic pint
It arrives at the table with a tight creamy white head and the signature cascading bubbles of a nitro pour. The beer is a crystal clear copper color. Lacing is intracate and clings to the glass throughout the entire drink.
The aroma is fairly basic with orange citrus and a little grass. A distracting alcohol aroma is present which is off-putting.
Flavor is much the same as the aroma, minus the alcohol. The hop flavors just aren't as sharp and pungent as I'd like. Some of it I'm sure is attributed to the nitro pour but the flavor just isn't doing it for me.
Mouthfeel is creamy and low carb typical of nitro pour. I've really grown to dislike IPA's on nitro, I don't even know why I ordered it. Give me a dry crisp pungent IPA over this muddled beer anyday.

On tap at Emmett's in Downers Grove.
A) poured with two finger head - hence the nitro tap. Guinness type appearance. Tight and creamy lacing. Clear body, bronze in color.
s) robust hop aroma. Floral, fresh and raw.
T) hop pow up front. Subtle caramel malt mixed in. Finishes with quite the hop bite.
M) medium body. Dry and sharp. Pleasant creaminess from the nitro.
D) a well crafted IPA. true American style IPA.

Tasted this over the weekend at the West Dundee pub.
Served in an imperial pint. Deep copper orange body, a finger of creamy head rose exactly to the rim. Fair level of clarity.
Luscious citrus aroma, orange, grapefruit, and melon. Not overdone, but I couldn't stop myself from taking a whiff before every sip. Firm bitterness in the taste, west-coast hop character, fairly resiny in the dry bitter aftertaste. Malt is well balanced and provides a nice rounded feel. Well carbonated, yet it doesn't interfere with the strong flavors. This was my favorite pint at Emmett's, should've taken a growler!

Pours worn copper brown with excellent clarity. Half inch just off white foam that is tan tinted. Leaves a thin layer on the surface. Spotty lacing with the growler, rings on tap. Darker than most.
Smell makes me think that a rich malt was used sparingly so as not to weigh the beer down. Floral hops in bunches. Not as citrusy as Emmett's Victory Pale, but more hop depth in this one. Hop candy sweetness.
Toasty malt with coffee characteristics. Hop bitterness is heavy. Hints of rye. Hoppiness is spicy, dark and rich. Enjoyable in that the hops have punch without too much abrasion.
Tingly hops last for a couple minutes, this brew strikes a great IPA balance of some rich coffee/caramel touched malt underneath the blanket of hops. Light spiciness, easy on the palate.
Put next to the Victory Ale at Emmett's, the IPA actually is not as strong on the nose, but the taste difference is distinct. Hoppiness in the IPA is more dense. Again, just the right touch of roast malt and sweetness to add a hop candy after effect. The only reason the rest of the growler is going back into the garage is to hook up my tomorrow self. Well hid 7.5% Fill a pint before this stuff is tapped out.
