Sampled in a taster glass from draft at Emmett's Brewing Company on November 5, 2021. The version I sampled had an ABV of 5.9% and 25 IBU. Decent interpretation of the style.

Pours nearly black with some reddish edging. A fingers worth of tan head holds on throughout the whole brew. Minimal lacing.
The nose has a hint of espresso/coffee mixed with some dark chocolate and roast.
The taste is much the same. The coffee is subtle and melds into some bitter chocolate. This combo is surrounded by a pretty hefty roast. Nice mixture that holds a decent balance.
The mouthfeel is the straw that broke the camel's back. A bit thin and lacking appropriate carbonation.
Overall, very enjoyable oatmeal stout with a great look, nose, and taste. The body needs some more viscosity.

Served in a nonic pint glass at the brewpub.
Part five of my Pint Night Waltz through the brewpub. It pours a stark onyx topped by a finger of dirty tan foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, dark chocolate, mild charcoal, and almost milder coffee. The taste holds notes of roasted malts, milk chocolate powder, light coffee, and very light molasses. The body is a stoic medium, with a nice nitrogenation and a ridiculously smooth feel. Overall, a very nice oatmeal stout, one that mostly benefits from the nitro tap (though I think the smell suffers a bit). Good times here.

Had this in the sampler then followed with a pint...
A - Nice dark color and tan milky head
S - Typical irish stout with a slight hint of coffee/chocolate
T - Immediately get an "iced mocha" feeling but then backs down to what you would expect from a stout.
M - Less "stouty" than other oatmeal stouts I have had which adds to it's drinkability
D - Goes down easier than most oatmeal stouts

Sampled 10/7/2010 at the brewpub.
Pours brown/black, no light coming through, thin tan silky head, medium lace and retention.
Aroma is smoke and roast with a touch of sweetness.
Flavor is basically a dry Irish stout with oatmeal and smoke. Not terrible but not very good and definitely not to style.
Body is medium and smooth, drinkability is decently high.
Tick.

Served in a 20oz imperial pint at Emmett's Palatine 7/20/08. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!
A: Lovely looking cascade going on in the pitch black body. Capping this is a creamy, 1 1/2 finger, khaki-colored head that laces pretty well.
S: Strong aromas of dark roasted malt, espresso, and dark chocolate.
T: See above. The dry and bitter flavors are offset nicely by the presence of slightly sweet toasted oatmeal. Also noticed was a fair amount of hops.
M: Creamy, and at the same time, dry. Quite hefty with a hoppy bitterness that comes on at the finish.
D: Excellent. This could be a great sessionable fall/winter stout.
