Thanks to Josh for sharing this wax topped bottle...
Appears a dark, hazy brown with a red hue and a small, off-white head that doesn't fade. Nice sized cap sticks around. Tons of lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of raisins, freshly baked rye bread, mild cocoa, vanilla, light grapes, and wine.
Taste is of of the mentioned aromas with highlights of raisins, and doughy bread.
Mouthfeel is syrupy, mildly tart, and medium bodied.

22oz waxed and corked bottle shared courtesy of Josh (thanks!).

Poured a deeper amberish color, lightly hazy, and a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of woodiness, vanillia, a little earthy, toffee, and dark fruits. Tastes of caramel, dark fruity sweetness, and some lighter grapes.

Poured from an oxblood colored wax sealed, corked and crown capped 22oz bomber into two St. Bernardus goblets. Thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!

Not sure, but this may be the bottled version of their entry in the 2008 FOBAB ("Morning Wood Belgian Dubbel" Belgian-style Dubbel aged in an American oak Lynfred Merlot wine barrel). The bottle label states that this was aged in "red wine barrels".

Best by December 2011.

A: Pours a dark and cloudy brown with burgundy tints. Tiny light brown head left no lace.

S: Sweet dark fruit, oak, candi sugar, chocolate, tart grapes, dirty yeast, and leather.

T: Flavors of tart red wine, spices, tangy lambic, caramel, leather, sodden oak, and more "dirty" yeast.

M: Fruity, at the same time dry and juicy. Spicy. Tangy fruit and dry oak with a peppery & sticky finish.

D: Very very nice. Interesting alternative to bourbon barrel ageing.
