Served in a snifter at the Palatine brewpub.
Gotta love the creative names these guys use, eh? This stuff pours a clear garnet-ruby topped by a finger or so of beige foam. The nose comprises Belgian candi sugar, toffee, mandarin orange, brown sugar, and light flowers. The taste brings in more of the same, along with a mild breadiness and a touch of clove. The body is a strong medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a thick, nearly chewy feel. Overall, a very nice barleywine, a highly enjoyable sipper for watching the Bulls continue to rock their opponents.

Sampled 10/7/2010 at the brewpub. This is supposed to be a winter beer but if you release a "winter" seasonal in the first week of October it is now a fall seasonal.
Pours hazy brown with beige head that lasts and does not lace the glass.
Aroma is nail polish remover mixed with caramel and malt.
Flavor is lemons, acetone, caramel, booze, and malt.
Body is heavy, drinkability is below average, overall = meh.
Tick.
