22oz bottle purchased at the brewery
L: Dark, slightly reddish-brown, literally the exact color of root beer, almost zero head
S: Difficult to pick up much smell when cold, but you can smell a bit of a vanilla and barrel smell, very similar to a barrel-aged barleywine. Very good.
T: Roasted malts and caramel/toffee, with a little bit of spiciness and barrel flavor. The taste fades a bit after you get used to it, because the flavor isn't that strong.
F: Extremely, extremely thin, with almost zero carbonation, and almost zero hint of alcohol burn. Goes down very easily.
O: The lowest ABV of any whiskey barrel aged beer I've ever had, and it doesn't have too much of the barrel character. Although the base beer seems pretty thin as well, so I'm not sure it could take more barrel aging anyway. A decent beer that is extremely drinkable by BA beer standards, but pretty subpar for a barrel aged beer that costs $20/bottle.
