To commemorate our 4-year anniversary, this Belgian-style Quadrupel will be infused with real coffee, making it a rich and robust ale with delicious notes of caramel, dark sugar, malt, and of course, coffee!

On draught as a "guest tap" at Apex Brews. 10 oz. pour. Ir pours a clear, cranberry-ruby color with a thick, ecru-colored head and lacing. It's a very pretty color. The smell is freshly-brewed coffee forward with notes of leather, tobacco, plum, and black cherry. Despite the coffee on the nose, this is assuredly a Quad. The initial taste includes plum, raisin, black cherry, and dark fruit. The coffee is evident but compliments the other flavors without dominating them. It's dry and the fruit slightly sour. The flavors work well together. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with low/moderate carbonation, and the 10.5% ABV isn't readily evident. Overall, I give Long Lot style points for (i) the recipe, and (ii) the name which is clever. I also credit Apex for serving it.
