On draught at the brewery.
A beautiful amber color, and thick head with some nice lacing.
A bit floral on the nose, black tea and malty citrus.
The caramelized malt flavor is very good, a little grassy, pleasant citrus flavor. Hops bitterness is well balanced.
The finish is mellow, smooth and clean.
A very crushable Amber!

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is amber, transparent, head is off white and presents 1 finger thick, head dissipates to a thing ring along the glass sides, no lacing.
Smell is neutral malt with a light toffee note, hint of caramel, touch of hops with earth and grassy note.
Taste is neutral malt sweetness some caramel and toffee, hop notes are similar to the aroma with an earth and grass component.
Mouthfeel is crisp carbonation, moderate sweetness, lower bitterness.
Overall a pretty clean, crisp, but lightly hopped amber ale compared to others in the style; but very easy drinking.

The beer is advertised as having a citrusy flavor from the hops, but I don't find it to be citrusy from an American Amber standpoint. Most American Ambers are overwhelmingly citrusy that all you get. This beer is tame compared to others, but it's well balanced. You get great malt character that goes well with the hops. It also has a nice finish that is on the dry side. Not cloying in any way. This is a great representation of what an American Amber should taste like. Today's American Ambers are too heavy on the Cascade style of hop. Balance is a short coming with todays American Ambers. This beer does it well.

Crystal clear deep amber, dense, thick off-white head, great retention, broken rings of lace
Nice blend of caramel and toast from the malt along with some citrus and tropical fruit from the hops
Mainly malty, leaning toward caramel, with some biscuit and toast, with some sweet citrus hop flavor as well
Medium-light bodied, appropriate carbonation, goes down very easy
This is a really great amber

Appearance:
Clean, clear amber wearing a slim cap of lily-white foam. Laces in a graceful, cascading sheet but retention is so brief you’ll question whether it was there to begin with.
Bouquet:
Toasted bran flakes, the distinct, lightly wheaty scent of pilsner malts, and dithering, hop bitters that wander off into the night, their purpose forgotten.
Feel:
Juicy, light-body with a steady murmur of low carbonation.
Taste:
Frontloads with honeyed wheat bread that’s engulfed by a lumbering wave of mild hops, punctuated by a citrusy blip. The linger is beholden to the teensiest smidge of caramel malts—like you practically have to enter a meditative trance, shutting out all else, to notice it.
Overall:
Sessionable and mild but basically one-dimensional. Reasonably good for what it is.

Clear amber appearance with a medium size white head and light lacing. At first whiff, thought the malts would be prominent but hops quickly stepped in. Citrus, think pineapple here, and to a lesser degree some tropical fruit. Hops retain control of the flavor. Still picking up the citrus but factoring in some pitted fruit to the mix. Bitterness is evident but not overwhelming as it lingers on the palate. Might be some caramel malts that are gumming up the aftertaste a bit. Medium bodied, softly carbonated mouthfeel.

Says something when the "feel" is the highest rated characteristic. I saw a billboard advert for this in Baltimore so I sought it out. Definitely something I was looking forward to, but not quite as complex as I had hoped. Poured from the can somewhat orange in color (I know) into a pint glass with a decent head of foam. Some bitter hops in the nose, but fairly clean otherwise. Taste was definitely caramel and bitter hops, but not overly so. Frankly, the lighter body and the lower than 5 ABV helped make it ridiculously drinkable. But it was somewhat one dimensional. A good throwback beer with food, but not something you'd savor and enjoy. I read (on another site) a review saying that there was an odd aftertaste. I didn't get that at first, but there was definitely something there the second time I tried it. Not quite perfect, but I love the style and our local world-class brewery does a great job. So definitely worth trying!
