5 ounce draught pour into a mini pint glass at the brewery.
Looks black in the glass but shows ruby edges with a light shined on it. The tan head is creamy and persistent, as expected from a Nitro pour.
The nose is robust with strong bourbon barrel aroma over top of a chocolate malt and a sweeter note. As with the nose the flavor is bourbon barrel forward with bakers chocolate and a faint, but sweet vanilla cream note. The amount of flavor is surprising, considering the nitrogen, and it lacks the watery quality that you get with nitro pours. It does have the silky smooth nitro feel though along with a creamy medium weight body.
First time drinking a barrel aged beer on nitro. This is a straight forward and well done stout with robust bourbon barrel character. This was available in cans but at the moment the only way to get it is on tap at the brewery. I hope this will make this one again.
