This Double Milkshake IPA is brewed with Toasted Rice, Oats and Lactose. It is then conditioned on the perfect blend of Tangerine, Pineapple and Peach before being dryhopped at nearly 7lbs per barrels with Citra and Amarillo. Lastly we infuse this beer with PNG Vanilla Bean to round it out and give it that classic Milkshake IPA flavor profile.

16oz can from Tavour. Doesn't disappoint. Hazy yellow, wispy head. Milky, fruity aroma. Blend of fruits works perfectly, the lactose and vanilla really making this feel like a milkshake.

This is the first beer I’ve tasted from the brewery.
Milkshake IPA on steroids.
Full fruit aroma and taste. Very nice peach colored pour in a tulip with a 3-4F head.
The taste is quite tart- tangerine rind and peach. The body is on the thin side, but decent.
Excellent milkshake IP?

Way too sweet. All I taste I is the sugary sweetness front the lactose maybe a little bit of tropical fruit but overall this beer needs more balance. Won’t buy again.

L: A murky yellow OJ appearance with a short and short-lasting ivory head leaving some minor spots on the glass.

S: I don’t get the mild smell comment (Covid test maybe), this is powerful strong on my usually weak olfactory.
Vanilla and hops to the extreme. Almost swear it’s coconut just to define the richness. An underripe pineapple is very present, but still plays second fiddle to the hops and fresh vanilla bean.

T: I don’t feel right drinking this. I should really be in an island paradise. It’s that good. The perfect marrying of lush tropicals, hops, and beer.

F: Dry and juicy. Perfect for the aim of this brew.

O: I’ve had a fair number of milkshake brews. None compete. My second Opaque Thoughts, and this one is phenomenal. It must be a matter of taste though with the other ratings. Top of the Top marks from me. Please Mountains Walking brew this again, and invite me over. I’ll do my best to show! [email protected]

A: Pours a murky medium golden orange in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate bright yellow + peach + apricot + bright orange + pale golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a medium to large sized patch of medium thick film covering approximately 50% of the surface of the beer around the outside leaving a large patch of thin film in the center of the glass covering the remainder of the surface and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of juicy tropical/pineapple + stone fruit/peach + citrus/tangerine along with moderate aromas of juicy tropical/mango + citrus/grapefruit hops over the top of just shy of moderate aromas of biscuit + pale + oats + rice + toasted malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. Light aromas of vanilla.

T: Upfront there are just shy of moderate flavors of biscuit + pale + oats + rice + toasted malts with a moderate amount of lactose sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of vanilla and moderate to strong flavors of juicy tropical/pineapple + stone fruit/peach + citrus/tangerine. Finally there is a moderate flavor of juicy tropical/mango + citrus/grapefruit hops which impart a hint of bitterness which fades away almost instantly leaving moderate to strong lingering tropical + citrus + stone fruit flavors.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly heavier than moderate amounts of creamy soft/fluffiness with a hint of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a very pleasantly creamy soft/fluffy mouthfeel. Very enjoyable and the combination of vanilla + lactose + pineapple + peach + tangerine along the citrus + amarillo hops is extremely successful. Not overly sweet and very successful - glad I decided to try this one from a new to me (and distribution to NC) brewery.

16oz can served in a big snifter. Dated 09/08/20.

Pours a hazy pale yellow-amber with a smallish head. Looks like a shake, almost. Smell is surprisingly mild, a little vanilla and a little pineapple.

Taste is much louder. The vanilla and lactose come screaming out followed by the pineapple which melds nicely with the peach. The peach and tangerine I probably would specifically point out if it wasn't on the label. Happily, it's not super sweet -- definitely sweet, but also with a respectable hop resin bitterness and maybe a little bit of citrus zest bitterness to help it out.

Mouthfeel is thick, but carbonated enough not to feel heavy or oppressive. Overall, really enjoying this beer.
