Lightly carbonated with an above average body.
Aroma is vanilla icing, roasted malt, some chocolate, alcohol, a little coffee.
Taste is definitely vanilla icing, chocolate cookie, roasted malt, alcohol,. Alcohol is fairly well hidden but adds some warmth and a little burn.
Overall a very good pastry/dessert beer

Medium black with brown edging and cap. Earthy oreo nose with hints of roast, not exactly what you expect. Taste is actually really nice, reminds me of guinness stout cake with vanilla icing. Creamy body with light edges of roast, warmth, and sweetness. Glad the nose wasn't too predictive

Found this in all places, at ShopRite Liquors in Little Falls. Safe to say that I've never hard of Mountains Walking before nor had I had anything from them but this sounded interesting and where else would I have found a beer from Montana (with a label like this) in these parts?

No surprise that this poured like brownies as it was dark brown with a lively, but extremely thin, mocha that quickly and loudly settled down. Very little lacing was left behind as what remained on my pint glass was a hazy film that wasn't like anything that I was accustomed to seeing from a beer. Loads of cacao nibs, brownie batter, vanilla bean, and sugary cake in the nose as the taste was just as rich, bitter, and filling as I was led to believe. Lots of Oreo here with more vanilla and powder as this had both a nice slickness and depth to it, with a lively carbonation that bubbled up through the liquid throughout my entire session.

Also everlasting was the booze as this was a strong beer that didn't make any bones about it's heft, but went down as easily as any American Imperial Stout that I've had in quite some time. A creamy undertone and milk chocolate aftertaste was a fitting end for this beer as it left my glass quickly and left me wanting more. Clocking in at 10.5% ABV and canned on 2/22, I loved this Stout and wondered why it wasn't rated on here. Even in the midst of all the crap going on in the world, it's nice to find a gem like this in these parts as I'd easily reach for anything from Mountains Walking again. Go have this for dessert!

16oz can cracks with minimal carbonation and pours pitch black into a glass; head fizzles quickly away and beer appears completely still as far as carbonation. Inviting, decadent nose of baking spices, sugary sweetness, milk chocolate, vanilla and lactose. Tons of milk chocolate character on the palate with more vanilla and lactose that makes you think of cookies and cream. There is definitely some alcohol warmth on the finish. Smooth, creamy, and warm. Pretty tasty.

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Near black pour, flat, thick. Aroma gives a peek at some chocolate before quickly turning over to vanilla, like twisting an Oreo open. More cookies & cream flavors with a little roasty bitterness, sweet, smooth. Some latent warmth comes in at the finish

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short off white head that quickly died down, leaving only a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of vanilla are present in the nose along with notes of chocolate.
T: The taste follows the smell but the flavors are a bit stronger and has additional hints of cream. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found this beer to be very drinkable considering its strength.
