Lovely dark body with a tan head and a large amount of lacing. Nose is light; dark bread and chocolate with a hint of mint. The feel is a little thicker than expected without being too heavy or sweet.

it also feels a bit warmer than expected, perhaps the mint that comes through is skewing things. This flavor/sensation is not dominating, as there is a mix of chocolate and pumpernickel that provide the primary notes. Little bit of a more earthy spice (almost rye-like) hits late.

16 oz can pours a deep, brown that looks black unless under light, with a chestnut brown head that slowly fades with time. Smell is of lager hops, and typical lager malts, but with dark, roasted notes. Flavor follow the smell with some bitterness from the roasted malts and a slight burnt note. Medium body with a bubbly mouthfeel and a nice aftertaste. Good Schwarzbier.

Canned December 2019; drank 3/29/20 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dark brown appearance.

A rough pour yielded a big khaki head; strong lace.

Root beer, brown sugar, mild milk chocolate & faint sea salt notes on the finish.

Medium mouthfeel.

Root beer & milk chocolate flavors up front; faint notes of fresh earth & sea salt on the finish.

Drinkable but substantial; a nice Schwarz!

Had on tap. Yes a schwarzbier on tap in 2019, awesome! Jet black body with two fingers of pleasing light brown foam head. Earth, german yeast, cocoa, coffee, roasted malt, and slight wheat in the nose. Taste is a clone, little more on the rich side, yet very expressive with the cocoa, coffee, and smoky earth. Feel is roasted, dark while staying decently frothy, and good underlying malt and wheat.
