16oz can, no apparent freshness date. Thanks to Anthony for giving me a can to try! Brown colored beer with slight reddish hues and a foamy beige head. Aroma is very malty, hinting at caramel, bread, brown sugar, spicy hops, and lager yeast. Heavy malt flavors that include notes of bread crust, brown sugar, caramel, toffee, and toasty grain; spicy & herbal hops add some ample bitterness. Full and very creamy body, moderate carbonation, sweet yet quite balanced finish. A very arrogant name that I both laughed and scoffed at. Overall, this is actually quite good, but not the GOAT.

smooth tasting beer - not much of a doppelbock taste - not even a bock taste
