Doppelbock aged in apple brandy barrels for 11 months. Notes of apple, caramel, and raisin give way to a rich & creamy body that expresses notes of dark fruit & warm bread.

Opaque chestnut brown with a tan cap. Smell and taste are clones: apple brandy and slight esters injected into a earthy and toasty malt body, with elements of caramel and dark fruit. Boozy but not hot, sweeter but not a sweet beer, malty but not heavy. Certainly not traditional, but the apple brandy does well to both accent and stand out in this one

16 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Had 11/26/20.
Pours a medium amber color, semi opaque, with a one and a half inch foamy head with decent retention and soapy lacing. Aromas of caramel, malt, apple brandy, light toast, light raisins. The flavor is headed by the apple brandy, then malt, caramel, some raisins, some bread. Smooth, a little creamy, a very good medium body, well carbonated.
This is a well made doppelbock that’s enhanced by really good apple brandy barrels. Love the creativity of putting those two things together, and then nailing it. Solid effort.
