This Strawberry version of our Milkshake Double IPA is unbelievably bright and balanced with a rich strawberry and vanilla character. Sipping it brings to mind strawberry gelato and freshly baked berry pies with vanilla ice cream.

16 oz can dated 08/27/21. Bustin' out of retirement.

Pours a hazy amber orange color with a slight pinkish hue. Has a 2 finger sudsy white head. Not much retention. Leaves some spotty lacing.

Aromas of vanilla and fresh mixed berries. Slightly metallic with some mild nuttiness.

The flavor has the expected notes of vanilla and strawberry, followed by some light citrus, raspberry, and grape jelly.

The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. A bit oily, but goes down smooth.

This is a good overall "milkshake" IPA. Unfortunately, it sounds more delicious than it really is, but if you like the style you'll probably enjoy this one.

Pours amberish color. A hint of red maybe.

Smell is tropical fruits and vanilla.

Vanilla dominates the taste with strawberry coming through more as you sip it. Not super hoppy.

Medium body and medium carbonation.

Over tasty but not very IPA-like. Maybe a little too sweet.

A: Pours a lightly hazy golden orange color with 2 fingers of head that fades down to a thin cap that leaves good lacing

S: Lots of strawberry and vanilla up front along with some lactose sweetness

T: Follows the nose. Starts off with the strawberry and vanilla and then picks up the lactose sweetness and some light maltiness. Finishes with lingering strawberry and vanilla

M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation

O: Another solid iteration of vanilla dome. Very strawberry forward and not too sweet. Worth trying

The vanilla and strawberry takes the edge and bitterness off of this one. The strawberry flavor was very subtle but the vanilla came though stonger. Smooth and sweet for an IPA- a very unique IPA unlike any I have ever had. I feel like there’s a potential for a great beer here.

Poured into a 13 oz Tired Hands Teku glass canned 1/25/19. Pours a very hazy yellow orange, with a little hint of red from the strawberry’s with a half finger sticky white head that leaves a thin wall of sticky white lace with excellent retention. 4.25

Smell is strawberry, vanilla, pineapple, and some raspberry. 4.25

Taste follows strawberry, vanilla, pineapple, and again not getting any grapefruit but some other berry flavor like raspberry. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a solid medium, soft gentle carbonation, not dry, and at 8% goes down very easy. 4.25

Overall I really dig this, strawberry isn’t over the top and it still tastes like beer. A little like a mild and slightly carbonated Daiquiri. Nice brew. 4.25

Vanilla Dome pours a dark, pale orange with a very thing head that retains some spotty lacing. The smell is what I expected, thin, somewhat sour with a wine characteristic and a hint of grape with the slightest wisp of vanilla. The taste as quite a tartness about it, with yeast and fruit, including strawberry on the palette. Difficult to pick out the lactose and vanilla sweetness.

L - pours a vaguely pink-hued darkish, flatish orange. Not much head to speak of, just a ring of lacing.

S - earth and strawberry seeds up front and then... cat piss. I'm told this is a legitimate aromatic note. Not so much in beer, but hey, there's still alcohol here. I don't want to smell this, but it's there. Hints of fresh walnut cat litter thrown into the mix. The more I sniff this like an idiot, the more I get that natural strawberry extract aroma... it's almost sour and is actually quite spot on. Torn. Let's see how it tastes.

T - now that's more like it. Big fruity strawberry candy. You know the one: Strawberry Bon Bons. Right down to the gooey sugary center. There's of course the vanilla sweetness, but overall not a whole ton of lasting power with these flavors. Maybe some grape candy too. What's there is enjoyable, though!

F - light for a DIPA, but great carb levels and silkiness. Complements the strawbs.

O - I like the concept of these Vanilla Dome beers, but the execution seems rushed or unrefined. The flavors are there and they taste great, but they're fleeting and not as robust as they want to be. Still won't turn this one down and it's actually dangerous because I want to keep sipping to keep dat flav in the ol' gullet.
